About Adams Antiques

Adams Antiques stock an extensive range of fine 17th-, 18th- and 19th-century oak and country furniture, particularly Welsh dressers and Windsor chairs, which are all displayed in the charming 16th century Grade I listed Churches Mansion in Nantwich, Cheshire. Associated decorative items such as wall boxes, tea caddies, treen, copper and brassware, pottery, paintings and other works of art are also available.

Sandy Summers, the owner of the business, has 40 years experience specialising in oak, walnut and country furniture, and has appeared on the BBC programme Going For a Song. Adams Antiques has participated at many of the major antique fairs in the UK for over 18 years and Sandy was on the vetting committee for oak and country furniture at many of them.

English yew wood Windsor chairs are a particular feature of the stock, which also includes examples of classic Welsh antique furniture such as Welsh dressers, Tridarns and Coffor Bachs. You will also find a good selection of other English and Welsh antique furniture - farmhouse and gateleg dining tables, dining chairs, armchairs, dresser bases (sideboards), tripod tables, side tables, chests of drawers, cupboards, corner cupboards and writing bureaux.

Adams Antiques was included in The Independent’s 50 Best Antique Shops in the UK in 2010 and has previously won the prestigious BACA National Award for the Best Specialist Dealer (Furniture) in the UK.

Elected to BADA membership for 17th-, 18th- and 19th-century oak and country furniture - in particular Welsh dressers and Windsor chairs.
