About Jeanette Hayhurst Fine Glass

Jeanette Hayhurst deals in antique British and European glass from the 17th to 20th centuries.

Together with her husband Malcolm, Jeanette started out as an avid collector of 18th century drinking glasses but their hobby turned into a business in the 1980s when Jeanette left her position as a fine art photographer with one of London’s leading auction houses.

Jeanette Hayhurst Fine Glass carries an extensive stock ranging from early drinking glasses, including balusters and twist stems, to Art Deco ship’s decanters. Glass is not just used for drinking vessels and Jeanette’s stock also includes sweetmeat and jelly gasses as well as more decorative pieces. They also have many fine examples of coloured glass including champagne flutes and trumpet glasses. The 20th century saw glassworks become increasingly stylised and Jeanette has many fine examples of sculptured pieces by artists such as Kaj Franck and Kosta.

Jeanette and Malcolm ran a successful shop on Kensington Church Street for 25 years before relocating to Tetbury in Gloucestershire in 2011. They exhibit at a number of the major antiques fairs around the United Kingdom, including the BADA Fair and Olympia Fairs in London and the Harrogate Antiques Fair. Jeanette has published many articles on the subject of antique glass and its identification and has appeared on television and radio as a leading expert. She is also a vetter at many of the antiques fairs.

Elected to BADA membership for British and European glass from the 17th- to 20th-centuries.
