About Peter Lipitch Ltd

Established in 1955, Peter Lipitch Ltd is situated in the heart of fashionable South Kensington and are one of London’s foremost specialists in fine English antique furniture and works of art. Peter Lipitch offers both expertise and service tailored to clients’ individual needs.

Their collection exemplifies the timeless value and appeal of fine antique English furniture and their forté is exceptional furniture of the Queen Anne, Georgian and Regency periods. This furniture represents some of the most famous and skilled cabinetmakers and designers in history including furniture attributable to William Kent, Ince and Mayhew, Thomas Chippendale and George Bullock. Each piece of furniture in their collection is carefully selected as a prime example of its period, style, condition and functionality and they pay particular attention to the provenance of each piece, having items from Alice Heathcote and the Dukes of Bolton and from the workshops of Gillows of Lancaster.

The versatility and superiority of the timbers used in the past ensures that fine English furniture will never be out of fashion. From tables, writing desks and cabinets inlaid with the most delicate marquetry, to beautifully patinated chairs of carved mahogany, there is something in their collection to suit every taste. From walnut, mahogany, satinwood and rosewood to more unusual woods such as purpleheart, sabicu or amboyna, their collection highlights the very best of antique English furniture.

They work closely with private clients and with designers and architects who use their expertise in supplying furniture to their own private and corporate clients.
